Baby? What baby?

Well that’s a relief. The Duchess of Cambridge obviously sensed that to wait another day would mean entering into a news-cycle battle that she was surely destined to lose. As a result, the news channels, sated by baby-talk, will no doubt be swinging their unyielding gaze towards the sultry backstreets of West Norwood, and I’ll be slamming my windows on the fingers of over-zealous paparazzi for the rest of the week.
For why, you ask?
Well, Waving, Not Drowning has become all grown-up and everything, and now has its own website.
Ryman’s were all out of easels, so I’m making do with this more prosaic announcement. But at least my new arrival has a name. Take that, royalty. It is the predictable and rather prosaic www.wavingnotdrowningbook.com
You can all calm down now.
You can’t quite buy the book yet (check the counter on the right of this page for a tantalising countdown), but you can order a signed copy, or download a sample chunk to see whether you want to invest your hard-earned (or extorted, stolen or embezzled — I’m not judging you) money. The sample can be found on the conveniently-named ‘Sample’ page.
All the other bits and bobs will appear there on August 1st. If you were to spread the word to everyone you know, I’d be both absolutely astonished and eternally grateful. It will also be flagged up on here, of course. Just try to stop me.
